Closure of After Adoption

Dear Friends

We are sorry to have to confirm that After Adoption has now been closed.

We have tried, where possible, to contact those directly affected, but due to the very short time frame permitted, this has not necessarily been possible. Please accept our sincere apologies if we have not managed to contact you.

We are exceptionally proud of the service we have provided and of the impact we have had on the lives of all of those affected by adoption in our 29-year history.

Where do I go now?

 

Adopted adults who have paid for a service:
You will need to contact the administrators to reclaim your money.
Unfortunately we will not be able to continue to deliver your service but you will be able to find another intermediary agency here: http://www.adoptionsearchreunion.org.uk/search/database/
Adopted adults receiving a service where they don’t need to pay:
The service has returned to your local authority or another provider. Please contact your local authority who will be able to direct you.
Birth relatives who have paid for a service:
You will need to contact the administrators to reclaim your money.

Adopters who are being assessed or family finding through our Families that Last service, or who have had a child placed with them through Families that Last:
Your service has transferred to another agency along with your worker – they will be in touch very soon if you are being assessed, family finding or have a child placed with you but haven’t reached adoption order yet.

If you already have your adoption order and are seeking support you will need to get in touch with the new agency:
Adopters who have accessed adoption support from After Adoption:
The service has returned to your local authority or another provider. Please contact your local authority who will be able to direct you.
Adopted young people:
The service has returned to your local authority or another provider. Please contact your local authority who will be able to direct you.
Anyone else:
Please contact your local authority with your query and they will be able to redirect you to the relevant service provider.
