SafeBase is After Adoption’s therapeutic parenting programme for adoptive parents, special guardians and foster carers. It creates a strong foundation for loving and lasting relationships within the family, giving children the confidence to feel safer and more secure with their parents/carers.
It was brilliant to meet other adoptive parents and share our mutual struggles and love for our children. The course helped me understand more about my son and his development. About the Programme
SafeBase is a 3-part programme which includes a family session, the 4-day parenting programme, and ongoing support.
Part 1: The Family Session
The Family Session is a tool based on the principles of Theraplay®. It is used to help you understand the interactions within your family.
Part 2: 4-Day Therapeutic Programme
Following on from the Family Session and feedback, you will attend our 4-day programme.
Part 3: Ongoing Support
SafeBase parents and carers have exclusive access to our Portal, for encouragement and support from other SafeBase graduates, as well as accessing a range of useful materials.
